Day 1JohannesburgFri: Johannesburg / Windhoek : Midday departure from Johannesburg to Windhoek. On arrival transfer to the KALAHARI SANDS HOTEL or similar.
Day 2-3SossusvleiSat & Sun: Sossusvlei : After breakfast depart from Windhoek, traveling southwards, via the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass and Solitaire to the Desert Homestead. Our journey takes us to the famous Sossusvlei, a clay pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Explore the impressive sand stone gorges of the Sesriem Canyon with its rock pools fed by the Tsauchab River. SOSSUSVLEI LODGE (BD)
Day 4-5SwakopmundMon & Tue: Swakopmund : After breakfast depart for the coastal town of Swakopmund, passing through the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons. See the vast gravel plains of the Namib and discover the celebrated plant, the Welwitschia Mirabilis as well as Moon Valley, an almost unearthly landscape formed by the valleys of the Swakop River. Time to explore Swakopmund, founded in 1892 - a town with old world charm and a relaxed atmosphere, nestling between the desert and the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the Mola Mola Dolphin Cruise and the many options this area has to offer, both for adventure seekers or those just wishing to relax. THE STILTS (B)
Day 6-7EtoshaWed & Thu: Etosha : After breakfast travel west past the Spitzkoppe, often referred to as the Matterhorn of Namibia to the edge of Damaraland. Visit one of Namibia.s few wine farms in Omaruru for a tour and wine tasting before leaving for Etosha National Park, home to 114 mammal and 340 bird species. The next two nights are spent at a tented camp on a private reserve bordering the Etosha National Park. Venture into the Park in an open topped game viewing vehicle as well as drives within the private reserve. EAGLE TENTED LODGE (BD)
Day 8OkahandjaFri: Etosha / Okahandja : Depart southwards towards Windhoek via Outjo and Otjiwarongo to the town of Okahandja, visiting the Kavango woodcarvers who ply their trade at a large open-air market. Arrive late afternoon at a game ranch situated at the foot of the Eros Mountains. Optional activities include game drives on the property. OKAPUKA LODGE (BD)
Day 9WindhoekSat: Okahandja / Windhoek / Depart : The morning at leisure before a midmorning departure for the airport for the return flight to Johannesburg. (B)
