MIAMI-LA PAZ : Depart Miami for La Paz via American Airlines. (Dinner and breakfast on board). | | Day 2 | La Paz | FRI. LA PAZ : Arrive in La Paz where you will be met and accompanied to hotel selected. Afternoon city tour of the Capital of the Altiplano (13,000 feet high) . You will visiting the Open Air Museum and Tiahuanaco Art collection, Casa Murillo, the local and picturesque witch Doctor street , the 16th Century San Francisco Church, the residential area of Obrajes and the unrealistic Moon Valley. Overnight at hotel selected. | | Day 3 | Lake Titicaca | SAT. LA PAZ-TIAHUANACO-LAKE TITICACA : Half day sightseeing tour of the ancient ruins of Tiahuanaco, capital of a great civilization that started in 1580 B.C and at the height of its splendor (700 AC) covered part of Bolivia, Argentina and Peru. Here, you will see its Aqueducts, Temples, Palaces, the Gate of the Sun and some of their mysterious monoliths. Then continue to the shores of Lake Titicaca for hotel Inca Utama. In the afternoon you will visit the Eco and Altiplano museums. After dinner you will have a chance to discover the spiritual world of the Callawayas -masters in natural medicine of the Andes. Within their concept, you must first heal the spirit before you can heal the body . A meeting with a Shaman will tell your fortunes as He casts and reads the Coca leaves. Overnight at the Inca Utama. (CB, L, D). | | Day 4 | Puno | SUN. LAKE TITICACA-COPACABANA-PUNO : Wake up at the sound of the "Pututu" -a native alpine horn- to see the Sunrise and experience like the local people the energy of the Sun God. Full day excursion by Hydrofoil to visit the colorful Andean town of Copacabana. Stop will be made to visit the Sun Island and drink water from the Sacred Spring -believed to be the source of eternal life. From Copacabana you will be taken by car or bus to Puno to hotel selected. (AB, L). | | Day 5 | Cuzco | MON. PUNO-CUZCO : Transfer to the train station for a full day ride across the Altiplano as you pass through many villages. Arrive in Cuzco, where you will be taken to hotel selected. (CB) | | Day 6 | Cuzco | TUE. CUZCO-PISAC MARKET-OLLANTAYTAMBO-CUZCO : Every week hundreds of natives from the sorrounding areas come down to Pisac to celebrate mass or to sell/trade their wares. It is a great opportunity to buy sweaters, ponchos, handicrafts, jewelry and enjoy the bargains. After lunch, visit the impressive Inka fortress of Ollantaytambo. Return to Cuzco and to your hotel. (AB) | | Day 7 | Cuzco | WED. CUZCO : Morning sightseeing tour of Cuzco -at one time Capital of the Inca Empire- and visit to the ruins nearby such as theFortress of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Puca-Pucara and the Inca Spa of Tambomachay. (AB) | | Day 8 | Machu Picchu | THU. CUZCO-MACHU PICCHU : Full day excursion by train to the most mysterious, energetic and powerful place of the Inca civilization.
Early morning your tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the train station for your 3 1/2 hour trip with spectacular views of the Urubamba River and the Andean mountain range to Machu Picchu. Temples, palaces, towers and staircases are built into the side of the mountain. Here your tour guide will take you from site to site explaining the advanced world of the Incas. Overnight at hotel selected. (AB) | | Day 9 | Cuzco | FRI. MACHU PICCHU-CUZCO : Day at leisure to explore Machu Picchu.(You can hike Huayna Picchu or go to the Intipunku -Gate of the Sun- or visit the small town of Aguas Calientes and its thermal baths on your own. Mid-afternoon return to Cuzco. Transfer to hotel selected . (AB) | | Day 10 | Lima | SAT. CUZCO-LIMA : Transfer to the airport for flight to Lima and transfer to hotel selected. Afternoon city tour of visiting the most important site of colonial and modern Lima -founded in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro. (AB) | | Day 11 | Miami | SUN. From Jan.1 to Mar.31 and Jun.18 to Aug.15, add $100 pp. From Dec.09 to 31 add $250 to all rates. RATES SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME.
DEPOSITS/PAYMENTS:
A deposit of US$250.00 is due at the time of placing the booking. Final payment is due 60 days before departure.
CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations must be in writing and received by Tara Tours Inc. Penalties are as follows prior to departure date: 45 days or more full refund less US$75.00 administrative fee per person. 44 to 30 days a charge of US$100 per person. 29 to 15 days will be subject to a charge of 60% plus any cancellation fees from the airlines, hotels or cruises 14 days or less NO REFUNDS. |
